My name is Cathy Fairchild and Say Yes to Less became my passion when I started organizing in 2010.  At the time, I didn't know organizing was a thing. It all began with an offer to help a coworker pack up her husband's belongings following his passing two years prior. She just could not bring herself to do it and had hit a roadblock, not knowing where to begin and feeling overwhelmed.  In a few hours, we had identified items to be offered to family members, and those to be donated, sold, or disposed of. What a difference a few hours made - both in her home and her spirit! She encouraged me to use my "gift" of organization and I am grateful for her nudge. I did some research and found NAPO (National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals) and organizing is definitely a thing.

I have been a member of NAPO for more than ten years and I am a member of two Special Interest Groups (SIGs)...."Working With Seniors" and the "Moving and Relocation" SIG. Both groups meet monthly to collaborate and share tips in order to better serve our clients.

My business card says I am a Certified Professional "Organizer," but I prefer to describe myself as a "simplifier." I am passionate about simplifying my home, my office, my schedule....everything! It makes sense that if all aspects of your life are less complicated, it takes less time to maintain them--and that gives you more time to do the things you love. Everybody is different, so there is no secret to getting and staying organized...it takes effort. I strongly believe that it starts with simplifying and having less "stuff" and then organizing what you have left so you can find it easily.

Let me help you say "Yes to Less!" Together, we will declutter and organize all areas of your home, office, classroom, etc. I have experience with helping clients downsize, including packing up an entire house and unpacking when you arrive at your new home, garage/yard sale organization, eBay sales, auctions, home staging, or simple decluttering to help you live a better life.

What is a CPO?

Certified Professional Organizer since 2017!

This credential is designed to elevate professional standards, enhance individual performance, and identify industry professionals who demonstrate the knowledge essential to professional organizing and productivity counseling.  CPOs have proven industry proficiency by documenting a specific number (1,500 hours in 3 years' time) of paid transfer-of-skill client contact hours, passing the Board of Certification for Professional Organizers (BCPO) examination, and agreeing to adhere to the Code of Ethics for Certified Professional Organizers.  After passing the exam, certification lasts 3 years.  To re-certify for another 3 years, CPOs may submit 45 hours of continuing education that help them improve the work they do with their client base. The Certified Professional Organizer credential is the only industry credential endorsed by NAPO (National Association of Professional Organizers).
